Public Transport vs Cars

Rick Metcalf worked for Citycat Ferries in Queensland before moving to Tasmania and when he saw the potential that Hobart's waterways have for a commuter ferry service he contacted me. Rick had already done quite a bit of work investigating the feasibility and estimating the cost of a ferry service and it appeared to me that the proposal had potential. Since then we have been trying to get stakeholders to have a serious look at his proposal.

Rick's commuter ferry service proposal and Ben Johnston's proposal for the Hobart Northern Suburbs light rail service, led me to call for an inquiry into integrated transport options for the Hobart region and I provided my first report on the enquiry yesterday on this web site.

Recently, Rick sent me some information and his thoughts on Public Transport vs Cars. Follow the link to see what Rick has to say.
