ADRIANA TAYLOR
Adriana Taylor was born in Tilburg in Holland in 1946, the youngest of 3 children. Her family migrated to Australia in 1956 and settled in Sydney. Adriana completed her secondary education at the Sisters of Charity's College at Potts Point in Sydney and commenced her university studies at the University of New England in 1964. She graduated with a B.A. at the end of 1967. Adriana married Beres Taylor in 1968 and they lived in Gunnedah where they taught prior to moving to Sydney in 1970. In Sydney, Adriana held a position in staff training and development with Grace Bros. Adriana and Beres moved to Burnie in Tasmania in 1972 to take up teaching positions at Marist Regional College, where they both taught for 2 years before moving to Hobart and returning to study at the University of Tasmania. Adriana completed her Diploma in Education and began teaching at Risdon Vale Primary School in 1975. In 1978, following the arrival of 1st son Patrick, Adriana worked part time as the school- community liaison officer. With the arrival of second son Stephen, Adriana left full time teaching at the end of 1978 to devote herself to her young family. During the 1980s, Adriana and Beres devoted their time to developing and running Loculus Retreat Centre. They also became increasingly involved in the Collinsvale community, particularly the Collinsvale Community Association, the Collinsvale Country Fair/Show and Collinsvale branch of CWA.
